They deliver information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards. They achieve this by partnering with others who share in a similar mission of research, training, and advocacy. The national fire protection service is made up of over 250 technical committees and is comprised of over 8,000 volunteers. The strategies from the national fire protection service are used all over the world. This includes schools, churches, malls, and office buildings. Here are a few examples of their codes and standards that they have developed. One of them is NFPA 1, which is the fire code. Another is NFPA 2, which is the Hydrogen Technologies code. A few others are NFPA 3 and 4, which are Protection and Life Safety Systems and Recommended Fire Hydrant Usage. With the help of the national fire protection service and all of their volunteers and committees, fires and deaths from fires are less common than they used to be.
